Several associations have joined together to support Noemí Merino, a contestant on Big Brother, and to denounce "the campaign of harassment and demolition" that, according to these groups, exists against the Lanzarote native. Different associations from Valterra have sent a statement to La Voz to ensure that they "carried out a strict monitoring and a thorough investigation" into Telecinco's behavior with respect to the conejera and, after a meeting, decided to send an individualized statement but with the same content, in which they assure that "the serious accusations" that Noemí has supposedly suffered "should be brought before the courts of Justice."
In this document, the associations consider that "no human being can admit, much less allow such a brutal persecution against a young woman," as is Noemí Merino. "There is no money or any kind of perk in this life for which so many informative persecutions and such aberrant and destructive acts can be allowed," they said in this statement.
The signing groups of this document are the "Tenesor" Senior Citizens Association, Puerto Esperanza Association, Faina Women's Association, Alma Guanche Association, Valterra Neighborhood Association, Los Marinos de Valterra Cultural Association, the Guardilama Sol Social Group and Titeroygakat. For these groups, the alleged "campaign of harassment and demolition against Noemí responds to a strategy skillfully calculated by her detractors." "Those responsible for these programs seem determined to ruin their credibility, because they lost their prestige a long time ago," they denounced.
"The latest and shameful evil" against Noemí, according to these groups, was staged in the fact that those responsible for Telecinco did not allow the Lanzarote native to enter the grand finale of Big Brother 12+1. The associations consider that Noemí "does not have to apologize to anyone for her actions in the contest." "She is free to do what she wants. She owes explanations to no one," they stated.
"The problem is not with her family"
In addition, these associations wanted to make it clear that the problem of what happened with Noemí Merino is not "with her family, or with any person around her," as stated by the presenter of Big Brother, Mercedes Milá. "The only ones responsible for the harm that has been caused to this young woman are a series of television panelists and the main people responsible for GH 12+1," they insisted. "It is a vulgar lie to try to make viewers believe that the management of the aforementioned program has nothing to do with the situation that Noemí is suffering," they denounced.
These associations stated in the statement that "Noemí is not so sick, or so distraught, nor does she have any type of psychological problem that makes it difficult for her to participate in a program," as they "have wanted to sell continuously and insistently" in the different Telecinco programs. "The only thing that Noemí has at this moment is the problem of being able to assimilate at this moment the terrible persecution to which she is being subjected and the evil of so many vile people," they stated.
They also wanted to send this statement to "lend their social support" to Noemí Merino, to "wish her a speedy recovery", to "advise her to continue being herself" and to ask her "to disconnect from psychologists and from medication that only serves to numb the natural instinct of the person." "We want to make known our total rejection of what we consider an incorrect action and a brutal persecution against this young Lanzarote native, who perhaps her biggest mistake was having entered to compete in this type of television program."
