Canal Gestión announced this Friday that 17 towns in Lanzarote will continue to experience occasional water cuts. Through the company's website, it has been announced that the lack of water will affect the municipalities of Haría, Teguise, San Bartolomé, Tías and Yaiza.
In the northern area of Lanzarote, Máguez and Mala will suffer water cuts during the day, while in the central area of the island, Los Valles (again without supply), Muñique, Soo, Teseguite, Tiagua, Teguise and Tao, will be affected by the lack of water supply. In addition, Güime and San Bartolomé will also have to experience the occasional water cuts announced by Canal Gestión.
Regarding the southern area of the island, La Asomada, Tías, Masdache and Mácher, will join the areas affected by these cuts. Finally, Yaiza and Uga will join the points of Lanzarote that will notice the lack of water supply.
Canal Gestión has reported some clarifying questions for citizens affected by the cuts and has enabled a space for them to communicate incidents on its website.
- During the night and in those areas where lower demands are usually recorded, supply closures are carried out for a few hours to minimally recover the deposits, reactivating the service in the early hours of the day.
- In the event that your lack of supply persists and is not affected by one of the causes communicated in this space, or you have detected a breakdown or water leak on public roads, you can report it through their website.
Week of cuts on the island
As La Voz already published, Canal Gestión announced that during Wednesday 24 towns on the island would have cuts in the water supply. A situation generated by some "unexpected technical problems" after the Lanzarote IV desalination plant stopped operating after suffering a "total" shutdown, the company added. The affected locations were the towns of Haría, Arrieta, Tabayesco, Máguez, Punta Mujeres, Mala, Teguise, Los Valles, Tahíche, Nazaret, Tao, Soo, Muñique, Guatiza, Teseguite, San Bartolomé, Güime, Montaña Blanca, Tías, Mácher, Yaiza, Uga and the Tegoyo area.
