The stone room of Casa Ajei hosted this Tuesday the presentation of the VIII San Bartolomé Christmas Shopping, with the presence of the first deputy mayor and Councilor for Commerce, David Rocío, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Pérez, who stressed the commitment to the closest, local commerce, and the revitalization and enhancement of small businesses. In addition, they stressed that this type of action serves to promote shopping days in shops and establishments attached and, according to the City Council, the councilor congratulated the City Council "for the work in the field of commerce, highlighting it at the island level".
The new day of the "San Bartolomé Shopping" will be held next Saturday, December 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., in the open commercial area of San Bartolomé town, where there will be a wide agenda of leisure, including music, mats for the little ones of the house, tapas, parades, raffles, workshops and concerts.
A total of 45 businesses have joined this proposal that will be developed along Avenida Alcalde Antonio Cabrera Barrera as the main axis, but which extends to other areas such as Calle Rubicón or Calle San Simón. In addition, purchases will be accompanied by prizes. For purchases over 10 euros, a "Scratch and Win" will be given, with more than 500 direct prizes. Among them, participants will have the possibility of winning a weekend in Fuerteventura or a cruise in the Mediterranean.
Workshops for all ages
From 10:00 a.m. the special program of this new edition will begin with an inaugural parade starting from Plaza del Carmen, encouraging people to join this commercial and leisure event. At the same time, children's and adult workshops will begin, which revolve around gastronomy. The little ones will be able to participate in the children's workshop "Chef for a day", while the adult workshop will be taught by chef Miguel Ángel Garcés, professor at the Centro de Formación Canario.
There will also be a tapas area and two stages with continuous programming such as open capoeria classes, flamenco classes, children's shows and concerts that will liven up the day with the groups "La última Llave" from Gran Canaria or "Bourbon" from Lanzarote. As for children's activities, in addition to inflatables there will be visual shows such as the magic show of the majorero group "No hay Bread Group" and "El reino del Revés!!!...Todo patas arriba".
On this occasion, the San Bartolomé Football Club will install a solidarity goal in which non-perishable food and toys will be collected to help the most needy people this Christmas. In addition, attendees will be able to purchase tickets for the raffle of the "Gran Cesta Batatera", with prizes as suggestive as a car and trips to Barcelona, Madrid and London.
Parade, circus and stall
During the afternoon there will be more workshops and the performance of DJ Ángel Pérez, the decision of the VII Window Dressing Contest, juggling shows and the Great Christmas Parade starting from the park located in the El Quintero area, with the participation of the Villa Pipol batucada, float with "The Great Christmas Fairy", Disney characters, stilt walkers and giants.
As a novelty this year there will be a circus space, where the Lanzarote Circus School will develop several classes and workshops, and also an area where to wrap the purchases made. In addition, at 8:00 p.m. the grand finale of this edition will be a Gran Tenderete Navideño, presented by Raúl Arencibia (Tenderete TVE) with the groups "Los Gurfines son los del Puerto", The Municipal School of Folklore orchestrated by the renowned folklorist "Leo Corujo", "Almudena Hernández" and La Parranda "El Golpito". During the Tenderete the two big prizes of the night will be raffled.
