The young Carolina Barambio has been proclaimed the new Miss Puerto del Carmen 2015 at a gala held this Saturday in the Plaza de El Varadero. The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, was in charge of awarding the sash to the brand new winner.

In this sixth edition of the beauty contest, Micaela Fernández was also chosen as the new Queen of the Festivities. Nerea Romero, former Miss Puerto del Carmen 2014, and the Councilor for Festivities of the Tías City Council, Francisco Javier Aparicio, were in charge of placing the crown. Likewise, the title of first lady-in-waiting went to Tatiana Echeverri, while Cristina Barco was chosen as second lady-in-waiting.

According to the City Council, "the members of the jury did not have it easy, due to the high level of the twelve young and beautiful candidates", who during the gala paraded in swimsuits, sportswear and evening gowns.

 

Awards for sympathy, elegance and photogenicity


During the gala, Lucía Oncina was also chosen as Miss Congeniality, an award given by the candidates themselves. For their part, the graphic reporters from the media chose Mirian Cabrera as Miss Photogenic, while the jury was in charge of choosing Miss Elegance, whose title went to the young Claudia Hernández.              

The VI Miss Puerto del Carmen and Queen of the Festivities 2015 Contest was presented by Demelza Viña, television presenter, and Ruiz Rodríguez, director of Radio Tías, under the direction of the well-known designer Willy Díaz. In addition to the girls' different parades, the gala also featured musical performances and dance groups that enlivened the night.
