La Tiñosa experienced an intense weekend where the magic of San Juan's night had an end with fireworks. The Tías Town Hall program with more than 12 consecutive hours of multiple children's, musical and traditional activities, concluded on Saturday night with a barbecue, a party night and the burning of the great bonfire.
The good weather accompanied the most magical celebration of the year and the desire for partying and fun contributed to the enjoyment of the hundreds of people who gathered in the area of La Pila de la Barrilla, next to Playa Chica. The parrandas El Golpito and Pal'porrón put the music on in the lively night.
The Departments of Tourism and Festivals of the Tías Town Hall, respectively, programmed a morning and afternoon day full of activities. From 12 o'clock an ancestral tradition was revived, where families enjoyed sharing a meal on the beach. The Town Hall installed tents for this family lunch promoted by the members of the Coral Marina de Puerto del Carmen and the Parish of Tías, with the support of the Town Council. Each family collaborated by contributing the snacks that were savored and shared among the attendees.
The Department of Tourism of Tías programmed, with the collaboration of the Lanzarote Underwater Activities Club, a cleaning campaign of the seabed in the area of La Pila de la Barrilla and Playa Chica, which joined a colorful jolateros regatta in El Poril, with the collaboration of the Burgaos Cultural and Recreational Association. The afternoon of the eve of San Juan, the area of La Tiñosa was full of many nautical leisure proposals for the enjoyment of all with walks along the coast of Puerto del Carmen.
The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, accompanied by the deputy mayor, Amado Jesús Vizcaíno, and the councilor of Fiestas, Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, together with the members of the government group, attended this celebration of San Juan's night, which culminated with the great bonfire that was lit after 10 pm and a fireworks display.
