Pedro de Armas Sanginés passed away this Saturday at the age of 75, after suffering a heart attack while in Argentina.

De Armas was president of the Cabildo between September 6, 1996, and March 10, 1997 and councilor of Urbanism of the Arrecife City Council, as well as co-founder of the Nationalist Party of Lanzarote (PNL).

He was president of the Nautical Club from 1991 to 1992 and a great fan of sailing, where he has achieved various titles in regattas in Lanzarote and long distance, such as the San Ginés Trophy or the regattas to Madeira and Agadir.

Married to Nely Bermúdez, he had 4 children -Cristina, Margarita, Pedro and Jorge- and their respective grandchildren.
