The passengers of the Vueling airline flight that took off this Sunday afternoon from Barcelona, and which was scheduled to arrive at 5:55 p.m. in Lanzarote, have not yet arrived at their homes. The plane was diverted to Fuerteventura, according to the explanation given to a passenger, due to a "sinkhole" on the runway at the Lanzarote airport.
However, the explanation for the reason for the diversion was not received until landing in Fuerteventura, so the passengers were surprised to see the plane land on the island of Majorera.
"When we landed they told us that in 15 minutes we would return to Lanzarote," says one of the passengers. However, time passed, and the passengers ended up being inside the plane "for up to an hour and a half", before disembarking and being transferred to a hotel in Fuerteventura.
"We arrived at the hotel at 12 at night, with everything closed. We couldn't have dinner, they only gave us water and today's breakfast," the passenger describes to La Voz.
One of the passengers has confirmed to La Voz that at 7:00 this Monday they were put on a bus, since they were initially told that the return flight to Lanzarote would leave "at 9 in the morning." However, when they arrived at the airport, the company staff indicated that the flight was delayed, and that it is scheduled to depart "at 12:00."
"I hope that 12:00 is the definitive time, and we can finally return to Lanzarote," says the passenger, who assures that some people have even made the decision to move to the Corralejo dock to return to the Island by boat.
