One of the users of the Las Cabreras nursing home has tested positive in the first coronavirus test, as confirmed to La Voz by Health sources. The tests were carried out on several elderly people in the residence after a member of the center's healthcare team tested positive last Friday. Since then, the tests that have already been carried out have yielded a positive result for Covid-19, while the rest have been negative for the time being. However, tests are still awaited for other users of the center.
Regarding the measures adopted, the Cabildo vacated the residence on Saturday and transferred the elderly to a hotel, until the facilities were disinfected. These tasks were carried out this Monday by the Military Emergency Unit (UME), and since Wednesday morning the elderly are being transferred back to the residence, where they will continue to comply with the isolation measures established by the protocol.
For safety, the transfers have been made by ambulance and individually. In addition, after taking each of the elderly, the vehicle is being disinfected before picking up the next one.
Regarding the person who tested positive, their condition is not serious and has not required hospital admission, so they have also returned to the residence, strictly complying with the established isolation measures.
