Nine Local Police officers from Teguise have been quarantined after one of them tested positive for Covid.

"Eight police officers who have been around him have been quarantined, they have been tested and today they are given the results," said the councilor responsible for the area, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who explained that it was last Friday when the agent tested positive and the protocol was activated.

However, the mayor has stated that "thank God" the infected police officer "is fine" and that the others are "in their homes but without any symptoms."

As Jiménez has detailed, only "six of them had been together" but, due to the protocol, "the entire work group" was quarantined. "One of them traveled to Las Palmas for personal reasons and had it done there (the test) when they called him and it was negative," he added.

Although the councilor of the Local Police of Teguise has acknowledged that putting nine agents in quarantine has been "a setback", he has stated that "the other colleagues have perfectly replaced" the casualties and that "together with the Civil Guard, the neighbor has not noticed them."

Likewise, Miguel Ángel Jiménez has congratulated the Lanzarote tracking team because he considers that "the protocol has worked perfectly."
