New stories have continued to be added to the VI Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero Micro-story Contest, which will remain open until August 31. In this edition, the theme is love or heartbreak and, as every year, the radio must appear in the story.
As for the prizes, the winner will receive a weekend at the Natura Palace hotel in Playa Blanca for two people, while the second will receive a Mezze for two people at the Sebastyan restaurant, in the same tourist town. Finally, the third place winner will receive two tickets for the 6D cinema at the Biosfera Shopping Center in Puerto del Carmen.
As in previous editions, the maximum length of the stories must be 100 words, including the title if it has one. Each author may submit a maximum of five stories, which may be signed with a pseudonym, provided that the name and contact telephone number of the author are attached. Those who wish may send their works to the address: [email protected]. Until then, La Voz de Lanzarote will publish weekly those that are received and that meet the participation requirements.
These are the new works received until Thursday of last week:
Song
I hesitated whether or not to go to that first date. I got in the car and turned on the radio. "Alfonsina y el mar" began to play. And I decided that I didn't want to end up like her for love (in the depths of the waters of Mar del Plata). So I started the engine, leaving him behind and heading towards you.

At the moment when the sun passed between the curtains she woke up.
A strange feeling of well-being invaded her, despite the fact that yesterday she had pushed away the one who had been part of her life, she was sure that she had loved him and that she would not forget him yet, suddenly blood gushed from her lip reminding her that yesterday's blow had been the first and last she received from anyone.
The alarm brought her back to reality; she sighed and turned on the radio thinking that maybe that would clear her mind.

The rain was hitting her window and her song was playing on the radio, the one they had danced to so many times. She went out to where they had met for the first time, and to her surprise she found him there and in a look he told her everything. He was the first to speak: "-I want to know if you still think of me, I want to know if you have any love left for me. I keep thinking of you, the road is long in solitude"
She could only nod and they both melted into a kiss.

Before me, the photo of our wedding. I can't help but have memories come to my mind. With the storms we have become stronger and the clear days have let us see the value we have for each other. I turn on the radio and, coincidentally, our song is playing. My heart beats faster and I feel an undeniable desire to shout out loud: "I LOVE YOU, MY LOVE".
"Goodbye?"
"You are sitting there, your lost gaze and your intense wet dark circles betray that you have been crying. The radio enlivens the lethargy of a last afternoon. I am torn between dreaming of new horizons or sailing an eternal sea of bonanza. I look at you and, for the last time, I raise my suitcase and walk towards the door. I am not able to say goodbye.
- I don't expect you to understand - were my last words - you can't eternally chain a free soul. Don't cut my wings.
I close the door behind me and, finally, I can breathe. I am free."
The black cloak
That's how they saw her for the last time, walking towards the cliffs carrying on her chest the rickety radio that had arrived among her clothes. Sitting in that sea of rocks, with the pain corroding her soul, she shed bitter tears that cursed that useless, distant war, silently listening to the couplets that he whispered to her on her nights of love. Once empty, lifeless, she directed her steps towards the great blue.
Even today, when the sun shines on the waves, you can hear in the distance an old transistor sounding weakly while a black cloak floats adrift.
