The residents of Playa Honda have continued to enjoy their festivities this week, with activities for young and old such as dominoes, mixed round, chinchón and 4x4 envite tournaments, organized by the Playa Honda Civic Center Cafeteria. There have also been games and workshops for children, a beach gymkhana or beach volleyball, all activities organized by the Youth Dynamization Project Intercultural Community Process of the Tiemar association.
Music has not been lacking in these parties, with the concert of the San Bartolomé Band, which played a varied repertoire in the Civic Center. The 1st Hip Hop Festival was also held, with urban dance, rap concert and battle of roosters, on the Guacimeta esplanade under the sponsorship of Paniko Street Wear, Mala Vida Tattoo, Pampero Urban Wear & Skate Shop.
Sport also has its space in the festivities in various modalities. Thus, in addition to beach volleyball, there was a zumba master class by Seneida Pérez, while the soccer tournament was played in different categories between U.D. Lanzarote, San Bartolomé C.F., C.D. Puerto del Carmen, C.D. Lomo and A.D. Inter Playa Honda, organized by the Inter Playa Honda Football Club. The tournament comes to an end this Friday, so the City Council has conveyed its congratulations to all the participants, thanking them for "their dedication in the matches" played.
Theater, cinema and end of party
In these parties there has also been room for the performing arts. The Local Group SomoS presented itself to the public with monologues under the title "I am a woman... and what?", eliciting applause from the public. Cinema came from the hand of the Canary Cinema Circuit "Cinema Islands", with the screening of the film "Hiroku: Defenders of Gaia".
This weekend Playa Honda will celebrate the last days of its festivities. This Friday the soccer tournament final and dynamization with mixed soccer for the youngest will be held at Playa Chica. There will also be a great dance for seniors at the Senior Center, with raffle, and tapas route at 1€ in 18 venues in Playa Honda from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (La Tasca, Las Toscas, Tu Taberna, Daniel´s Café 77, Pizzeria Wambo, Bar Cafetería Centro Cívico, Terraza Concord, Café bar-tapas Noa Noa, Restaurante La Barca, Metropizza, Goliath, Piscolabis Mercedes, Liquid Terraza, Bar Patxi, El Bereber Lounge Bar, Emmax, Café Red y Delice).
At 7:00 p.m., Dj’ Speaker will arrive with a musical entertainment proposal of all styles with a wide repertoire, from the most classic to the most modern, games, karaoke, visuals and the best music to keep dancing. The event will take place on the Guacimeta esplanade. The agenda of activities will be extended until Sunday with children's activities, skateboarding, horse racing, body jump and even wind festivals, with construction and decoration workshops and kite flying exhibitions.
