Almost 2,000 people participated on Friday morning in the parade that welcomes the Carnival in Playa Honda and in which more than 800 schoolchildren from the Playa Honda Infant and Primary School have toured the main streets of the town. In an act, organized by the educational center, Indians, Maasai, Indianos and Vikings, among others, paraded to the rhythm of batucada and the most popular songs of the moment. The theme chosen for the costumes, made with recyclable material, was the cultures and civilizations of the world. In this way they are related to the theme of the Lanzarote Carnival 2017.
After the parade, the CEIP Playa Honda has hosted the performances of the different courses from Early Childhood Education to sixth grade. Among other songs they staged 'Los Indios del cole', 'El tren del Carnaval', 'Oye, mira hacia arriba, disfruta de la vida', 'Cómo te atreves', '‘La bicicleta’. ‘Can’t stop the feeling’, the murguera version of ‘Despacito’ and ‘Bailar’ by Elvis Crespo and Deorro. Likewise, the murga Los Guacimetitos de Playa Honda has enlivened the event with their songs.
The event, according to what they have explained from the educational center, has had the collaboration of the City Council of San Bartolomé as well as members of Civil Protection and the Local Police.
