The Pardela Gala crowned 'Miss Eustaquia la de la Esquina' as the new popular sovereign of the coastal town of El Golfo, although if it were up to the public, as was demonstrated this Saturday during the Los Misses catwalk, the award would be for the nineteen boys who laughed at themselves to entertain the audience at the most anticipated festive event by neighbors and visitors.
The jury, composed of Juan Martín, Orlando Trancho, and Ramón Lemes, also chose 'Paraíso Canario' as Miss Elegance and 'Conchita la Desbocada' as Miss Congeniality. The parody of El Golfo provoked an explosion of joy among the public, who since 2011 have not tired of having a good time with this show proposed by the town's festival committee, whose result each year confirms that it was a complete success to mock reality.
The Misses reserved their best styles, accessories, and headdresses to please the public and win over the jury. One by one, they showed off their skills on the catwalk, some even dared to dance and even flirt with the members of the jury to impress and achieve a higher score.
This is the fun of the El Golfo Gala, full of eccentricities and presented by Alejandro Rodríguez, 'Guayo', as he is known in the high spheres of the capital and Lanzarote jet set. Models who throw on whatever it takes in a satirical show that uses cunning, where the jury values imperfection more than perfection and ingenuity before beauty.
After the verdict, the three "winners" posed for the press in their usual photo session, and then their catwalk colleagues did the same to leave the image of joy for the memory.
The El Golfo festival committee and the Yaiza City Council, through the Department of Festivities led by Daniel Medina, appreciate the dedication of Los Misses, most of whom are residents of the town, and the collaboration of all the restaurants in the town that are committed to the popular festivals of La Pardela so that people dance, laugh, and enjoy themselves.
