The singer-songwriter Mellany Morales presented her first album, "Gene Kelly", this Thursday at the Castillo de San José, inspired by the actor starring in the movie "Singin' in the Rain". A hundred people came to enjoy this acoustic concert, marked by the sounds of the ukulele and the powerful voice of the New Zealand-Lanzarote artist.
On a stage set up at one end of the Qué MUAC restaurant, the singer unfolded the content of her album, a review of the basic emotions of the human being, anger (You are not my friend), loneliness (Drifting By), the sadness of separation (Gene Kelly) or love in its early stages (Coffee).
She was accompanied in the performance of the repertoire by her bandmates in Doctor Ye-ye, Abel Herrera and Fermín Asensio, with whom she has performed in the Arrecife en vivo, Stockazo or Sonidos Líquidos projects, among others.
The presentation of the album was organized by the Culture and Festivities Departments of the Arrecife City Council, with the collaboration of the Tourist Centers of the Cabildo. The production of the event was carried out by Tomás Pérez-Esaú.
