The Social and Cultural Association for Women Mararía has joined the celebrations to commemorate International Women's Day. This Tuesday, the association has organized a talk entitled "The broken look", which aims to "reflect and raise awareness about equality."
The talk, which is held this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Archive of Arrecife, will delve into gender violence "through representation: clichés, stereotypes and fetishism." For this, it will feature the speaker Marina Murai.
In addition, Mararía held other events to commemorate the celebration. Last Saturday, March 7, it organized a parade that left from the Four Corners and toured the capital's streets to the Plazuela to the rhythm of the Batucada del Cribo. They also had the performance of the gymnasts from the Tenesa Sol club and even the storytellers Vicky Dos Santos and Begoña del Moral for the little ones.
For the day of the celebration, Sunday, March 8, Mararía prepared two events related to the world of sports. Thus, it held an awareness event with the players of the Sports Union and another with the athletes of Marino.
