The well-known Canarian comedian Manolo Vieira will present his new show, ''One, two, three... Testing'', during the festivities of La Candelaria and San Blas, organised by the Department of Festivities of the Tías Town Hall. His performance will take place in the wrestling arena of Tías, on February 2, coinciding with the big day of the festivities, from 8.30 pm.
The new proposal of the comedian, who has been on stage for more than twenty years and was awarded the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands in 2002, is a mischievous tour of the world of entertainment. "New stories mixed with some of the usual ones. Manolo Vieira is characterised by telling stories based on real events, such as the Sunday midday films, a day at the beach or shopping in the supermarket, where we can all feel very identified", they emphasise from the Consistory. "As is usual with Vieira, both his experiences and childhood memories and his peculiar ability to read from sarcasm everything that surrounds him and suffers, becomes a close humour".
As the comedian explains, "laughter is essential for life". "Everything makes sense if we laugh and if those we love laugh. Even adversities are better overcome with laughter and good humour. Dedicating oneself to this blessed profession is more a way of life than a job in the classic style. I am concerned with echoing the needs of the people, being a spokesman for their concerns and an active observer of the everyday life that happens to us all. Thinking of my audience as I think of myself is my ultimate goal, reflecting our goodness and our mistakes", he says.
After such successful shows as "The last one to leave, turn off the light", "Get out of there", "Bolero", "Laughter" and "Today is not Monday", Manolo Vieira will offer in Tías, in a single performance, this new show, ''One, two, three... Testing''. Tickets can now be purchased at a price of five euros, at the Tías Hardware Store, as well as on the day of the performance at the box office itself.
