Lanzarote's buses registered a total of 5,427,500 passengers during 2019, 387,520 more than the previous year, according to figures published by the Cabildo's Data Center. Thus, there was an increase in the use of public transport on the island of 7.68%.
However, while the number of passengers in intercity transport increased, Arrecife's buses lost 29,687 passengers. Specifically, urban transport in the capital registered 468,501 passengers during 2019, 5.95% less than the previous year.
With regard to intercity buses, the number of passengers amounted to 4,958,999 in 2019 compared to 4,541,792 passengers in 2018, which is 417,207 more passengers and a growth of 9.18%.
