The NGO "Calor y Café" celebrated its first charity dinner this Friday, which was a success, as Lanzarote responded to the call for solidarity. The restaurant of the Casa Museo de El Campesino was the place chosen to start this dinner at 9:00 p.m.

The 500 places that were put on sale for this dinner were sold out before Friday, far exceeding the expectations of the organization. The founder of Calor y Café, Sister Ana, was in charge of welcoming the diners.

In addition, she explained to all of them the work of the NGO, which was founded on September 8, 1996 to meet the needs of drug addicts. However, today, Calor y Café serves all types of people who need help.

Sister Ana thanked Lanzarote for its response, both from the people and from the commercial firms and institutions that supported this charity dinner, which consisted of a bread broth and a symbolic dessert. In this way, it was intended to make diners aware that today many residents of Lanzarote go to bed without something to eat.

The dinner also had the special collaboration of several artists from Lanzarote such as Toñín Corujo and his musicians, the magician Garlín, the monologist Julio Herrera and the Chimia band. All of them gave their best so that the dinner had a festive touch.

In addition, almost 100 gifts were raffled, all of them donated by different commercial firms and individuals. Before the end of the event, Sister Ana took the stage to thank everyone again and assured that dinners like these will allow projects like "A Roof, a Dream" to move forward. She also said that although she is the "visible head" of the association, without the help of the volunteers she could not carry out this work.
