The workers of Lanzarote Bus have concentrated this Monday in front of the Cabildo, when they have already been on strike for 18 days, seeking the support of the Island Corporation in the conflict with the company.

According to Intersindical Canaria, Podemos councilors Jorge Peñas and Myriam Barros have approached to listen to their demands, and so have the socialist councilors Hugo Delgado and Marcos Bergaz, who holds the Ministry of Transport.

"After attending to the explanations of the representatives of the workers by Intersindical Canaria, the political party offers to mediate in the conflict by proposing a meeting with the parties and the president of the Cabildo, possibly for this coming Thursday," explains the union.

However, he adds that they have also been told that the company will only attend if they withdraw from the agenda the requirement to end the split day, which is "a main point of the demands." Therefore, they anticipate that in the event that this issue is left out of the debate at that meeting, the representatives of the workers will not attend the meeting either.
