On Friday, June 26, the festivities began in honor of Our Lady of Regla in the municipality of Tinajo, specifically in the town of La Vegueta, in which a program full of events prepared by the La Vegueta Festival Committee and in collaboration with the Tinajo City Council, aims to ensure that the people of the town and their relatives enjoy and participate.

Last Friday, June 26, one of the most recognized artisans of our island was recognized, "a man who has tried to defend what is ours above all else, pouring his knowledge and his work to anyone who was willing to learn a little of his great wisdom. This is Don Juan Lemes Lemes", explain from the Festival Committee.

Neighbor of La Vegueta, right in front of that square, which today bears his new name, Plaza Juan Lemes Lemes. He was an artisan, carpenter and above all a disseminator of our culture, of our old customs, which through generations, Don Juan Lemes knew how to transmit selflessly.

Many residents of the town, the children and grandchildren of the honoree, the La Vegueta Festival Committee and the mayor Jesus Machín with the new councilors of the corporation such as the security and emergency Yurena Cubas, the sports delegate Vianney Rodríguez, the head of roads and works Luis Pérez, and the councilors for the elderly and youth, Virginia Morales and Sara Acuña respectively, attended the tribute.

From the Festival Committee and the Tinajo City Council, "we congratulate the family and above all that the work left by Don Juan Lemes Lemes is never forgotten."
