The Playa Honda festivities came to an end this Sunday with a multitude of activities. The skateboarding exhibition on Saturday had great participation from skaters and the public, who gathered in the avenue area, at the height of Princesa Ico, outlining itself as a very successful activity in which Crockett pro Skate Shop actively participated by organizing the activity.

The IV horse race on the beach left spectacular images in a unique environment under the sunset. The event hosted the competition of 6 horses organized in races of two. The Hípica Caldera Honda Association organizes this activity, which brought together a large audience along the entire Playa Honda Avenue. As night fell, Jimmy's Joplin offered his repertoire of the most rock versions in the Guacimeta Esplanade tent. After their applauded performance, the quintet Lanzarote Swing took the stage, extending the night until the early hours of the morning.

Kites, windmills and aerobatic flight

Sunday was dedicated to the wind and the beach. The avenue hosted the XVIII Wind Festival, with kite and windmill making workshops, aerobatic kite flying and the presence of the environmental education classroom and the Aena aeronautical museum. The participation of young and old throughout the day was maximum.

During the afternoon, the workshop for recycling bottles and jugs for the making of lanterns was held, which were placed on the sand of Guacimeta beach forming with lights "Playa Honda". This activity was carried out by the Tiemar Rural Women's Association, which always actively participates in the festive program of the town. To close the night, the Grupo Versionado delighted the public with a wide repertoire of versions for all tastes. A small pyrotechnics at dusk and music were in charge of putting an end to the end of summer festivities in Playa Honda.

The Councilor for Festivities, María Dolores Fernández, has thanked the participation and collaboration of the different municipal areas in the festivities, all the neighbors who have been actively involved in the organization of events and associations, groups and clubs for their contributions. She also takes the opportunity to thank the participation of all citizens in the various programmed events.
