The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, has bought a series of the 59,281 number of the Lotería del Niño to distribute it among the residents of the municipality.

"It's my Three Kings' Day gift for the town," Machín stated. "If we are lucky, two million euros will stay in the town, and it is important, a detail. And I will do so, God willing and if I can afford it, every year," the mayor of Tinajo also announced.

Specifically, as Machín explained, the ten tickets were bought "in Granada" and will be distributed among the inhabitants that Tinajo had as of December 31, which amounted to "6,500 people." "Well, it would be divided among 6,499, because since I'm giving it away, I'm not included," he specified.

"With that census, I will bring a certificate from the City Council and sign it before a notary," added the mayor of Tinajo, who wanted to clarify that it is a gift that he makes "personally" and that he has paid with his own money,  having spent 200 euros.

"There is a town in the Peninsula where the City Council gives away a number to all the residents, but I cannot and do not want to do it with the City Council," he pointed out. "This is a personal thing of mine, it is not as mayor or as City Council, I do it personally, because my town, with the behavior it has had with the coronavirus, deserves at least a small detail," Machín insisted.

Likewise, the mayor of Tinajo pointed out that, in case the 59,281 number is awarded in the Lotería del Niño, he will ask the owners of the companies in the municipality to "donate the amount they win to food banks," etc." "I wish it would be won," Jesús Machín concluded.
