Lanzarote and the Canary Islands woke up this Saturday with one of the saddest news, very difficult to digest in the great families of Canarian folklore, the death of Ico Arrocha. Arroche has been a man linked all his life to his other great family of the Guadarfía Folklore Group of San Bartolomé.
Arrocha was a unique and highly requested voice to participate in record recordings, radio and television programs. He, along with other greats of Canarian folklore, was a pioneer along with the always loved and remembered Nanino Díaz Cutillas as presenter of the Tenderete program.
Ico Arrocha, physically leaves us but will always be remembered by all the people of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands who have followed him in his many performances throughout his life and his voice will continue to sing to the Canary Islands thanks to technological advances.
