Health is already doing PCR tests on Lanzarote students who are studying outside the island and who are returning to Lanzarote. And, although the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, announced that there would be a screening of them for Christmas, it has been brought forward due to the demand from young people who are returning to the island.

"The Government of the Canary Islands is preparing a protocol, but the Cabildo wanted to get ahead and start doing them now, because there are already students from the Peninsula, from places like Granada and Madrid, who are returning to the island," health sources told La Voz.

To get the PCR, the students themselves or their families must make an appointment at least 48 hours before arrival on the island, either by calling 928 595 266 or sending a WhatsApp message to 677 980 642 from 08:00 to 19:00 hours. This mobile phone has been enabled in anticipation of the number provided for calls being overwhelmed.

Once they request an appointment, students will receive all the necessary information for the test: place, day and time. However, it is advisable that upon arrival on the island they remain without contact with the most vulnerable people in their environment and that they maintain hygiene measures, mask and distance until the result of the test, which will be given to them within a period not exceeding 24 hours.
