Health Department studies three suspected cases of monkeypox in Lanzarote

The Canary Islands added a new positive case of the virus this Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 118 since the start of the health alert.

The Ministry of Health announced this Thursday that it is studying three suspected cases for possible diagnosis of monkeypox in Lanzarote.

In addition, it has notified a new positive case at the regional level, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 118, of which 77 were detected in Gran Canaria, 38 in Tenerife and three in Fuerteventura.

As for the rest of the cases under study, in addition to the three in Lanzarote, the Ministry of Health maintains a total of eight cases, five probable and three suspected, in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and one in La Palma.
