The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, in co-organization with the Lanzarote Tourism Federation, presented this Wednesday at the Gran Hotel de Arrecife 'Coral Travel 2026 Trends Monitor', an action that gathers the details of the current tourism situation on the island.
This is an initiative promoted by the international tour operator Coral Travel and the company specialized in tourism marketing and intelligence MADISON Travel & Tourism.
Juan Manuel Alonso, product purchasing manager for the Canary Islands of ODEON Tours, explained that "what we are going to try is to bring closer the profile of tourists we have and that we bring to Lanzarote, mainly from the DAC market (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and some other smaller markets like the Czech Republic".
According to Alonso, this type of tourist they are bringing to the island "has changed their way of working a little". "They are looking for sun and beach, yes or yes, but they are also very interested in the complementary product to sun and beach, that is, in heritage, culture and gastronomy," he continued.
These elements are key to presenting Lanzarote as a "somewhat different" destination in the Canary Islands.
In this regard, he highlighted that Lanzarote has a very interesting heritage offering thanks to the Timanfaya National Park and the range of nature-related activities. "The tourists we are bringing are very interested in this," pointed out the manager for the Canary Islands of ODEON Tours.
And it is that the average spending per tourist exceeds 200 euros per day, in addition to the price of the package they pay when they travel to Lanzarote. Furthermore, the average length of stay is seven to ten days.
The presentation of the 'Coral Travel 2026 Trends Monitor' was attended by Héctor Fernández Manchado, CEO of SPEL-Turismo de Lanzarote and Susana Pérez, president of the Lanzarote Tourism Federation, as well as Yolanda Perdomo, executive board member of MADISON Travel & Tourism, Santiago V., manager of MADISON Travel & Tourism, Onur Sonnur, general manager of ODEON Tours in Spain (Coral Travel Group), and Juan Manuel Alonso, product purchasing manager for the Canary Islands of ODEON Tours.
