Another Canary Island and a destination in England, more affordable places than Lanzarote according to a study with the ten cheapest destinations from the United Kingdom for the summer

After many years in which British citizens did not skimp on vacations despite economic crises, this seems to be changing with more Britons thinking twice about where to go on vacation and even staying in their country. This was confirmed by the president of the Lanzarote tourism employers' association, Susana Pérez, in a recent interview published by La Voz de Lanzarote. 

Some British media have analyzed the cheapest destinations for Britons, including options to stay within the United Kingdom.

One of the key studies that are being echoed, carried out by the acqua credit card, analyzes the total cost of a week's holiday for two adults from the United Kingdom, adding up transport, a three-star hotel, dinners, and pints of beer— and places Lanzarote in tenth position in the ranking of the most economical destinations for this summer. The list includes, as the cheapest destinations, Tenerife and a destination within the United Kingdom: Blackpool

The study calculates that to spend a week in Lanzarote, a British couple has to pay an average of 225 euros per person for the plane ticket. The three-star accommodation for two adults is set at 1,236 euros for the seven nights, dinners at 10.20 euros per person, and a pint of beer at 3 euros. 

The cheapest destination for Britons according to the study is Albania. The report estimates the necessary budget in this country as the most competitive, calculating that the round-trip air ticket costs an average of 118 euros per person, while the three-star hotel for the whole week costs around 450 euros on average. In addition, there is very economical catering, with a price per meal of 8.5 euros and a pint of beer at 2.7 euros.

In second place is Prague, whose plane trip from the United Kingdom is 119 euros per seat and weekly hotel accommodation amounts to 800 euros. In the Czech capital, the barometer estimates that eating costs an average of 9.6 euros per person, while a pint of beer is set at 2.5 euros.

The third destination by price is the Portuguese city of Porto. To travel to the north of the neighboring country, the study calculates that potential British tourists will pay an average of 132 euros for each plane ticket, while a week's stay in a three-star establishment requires almost 800 euros. The catering sector is priced at 11.7 euros per meal and a pint costs 3 euros.

The fourth position in the tourism ranking is for Madrid. The budget for the British includes a plane ticket at a very competitive average price of 94 euros per passenger and weekly hotel rates of 794 euros in summer. Sitting down to eat in the capital of Spain costs an average of 15.3 euros per person, while a pint of beer is priced at 3.57 euros.

Next is Lisbon, which consolidates its fifth place in the economic table. Plane tickets from the United Kingdom are around 136 euros per seat, while three-star accommodation costs about 930 euros for seven nights of summer stay. Regarding local leisure, food costs 14.30 euros and a pint of beer is 3 euros.

The sixth position in the ranking of the most affordable destinations is for the Malaga-based Costa del Sol. The package consists of 104 euros for an air ticket per person and 1,250 euros for weekly accommodation for two adults. In the beach bars and local establishments of the Andalusian coast, a meal averages 15.3 euros, while a pint of beer costs 3 euros.

The seventh cheapest destination in the sample is Budapest. The study estimates a round-trip air ticket at around 129 euros per passenger, while hotel rates for the full week rise to 1,522 euros. Prices for dining in the Hungarian capital are 11.38 euros for food and 3.42 euros for beer.

In eighth place is Tenerife, which becomes the best-positioned Canary Islands option in terms of price thanks to its three-star hotels. The plane ticket costs an average of 193.5 euros per person, but the hotel is more moderate at 890 euros per week. Meals in Tenerife establishments are calculated at 16.8 euros per person and a pint of beer costs an average of 2.7 euros.

In ninth place is the only coastal destination in the United Kingdom itself that makes it into the selection, Blackpool. As it is domestic tourism, the road trip amounts to an average expenditure of 41 euros in fuel, but the three-star hotel costs 675 euros, meals 17.7 euros, and a pint of beer exceeds 4 euros.
