Health Department studies four possible cases of monkeypox in Lanzarote

The Canary Islands have added 4 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 158 since the beginning of the health alert.

The Ministry of Health announced this Tuesday that it is currently studying four possible cases of monkeypox in Lanzarote, two of them probable and the other two suspected. It should be remembered that in the last update, last Friday, the island only had one case under study.

In addition, four new cases have been confirmed in the archipelago as a whole. Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, there have been 158 confirmed cases, of which 91 were detected in Gran Canaria, 61 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and another in Lanzarote.

Currently, the Ministry of Health maintains eight cases under study for possible diagnosis of monkeypox: the two probable cases in Lanzarote and another six suspected cases, three of them in Gran Canaria, two in Lanzarote and one in Tenerife.
