Health Department Maintains Five Cases Under Study for Possible Monkeypox in Lanzarote

This Tuesday, the Canary Islands has added six new confirmed cases of the virus, accumulating 132 positive cases already.

The Ministry of Health maintains five cases under study for a possible diagnosis of monkeypox in Lanzarote, the same amount that was reported this Monday.

At the regional level, the Canary Islands has added six new cases and eleven under study for monkeypox in the last day. Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, there have been 132 confirmed cases, of which 82 were detected in Gran Canaria, 45 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura and one in La Palma.

All active cases are experiencing mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.

Likewise, the Ministry maintains thirteen probable cases, pending confirmation, in addition to those reported in Lanzarote, in Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and La Palma.
