The Ministry reduces to two the cases under study on the island, after discarding two from the previous day

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has confirmed this Wednesday the first case of monkeypox in Lanzarote.

In addition to the one on the island, the Ministry of Health has reported another new case and four under study throughout the archipelago since this Tuesday. Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 134 confirmed cases, of which 82 were detected in Gran Canaria, 46 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and one in Lanzarote

All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.

On the other hand, the Ministry reduces to two the cases under study suspected of monkeypox in Lanzarote, and there are currently another eight distributed in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and La Palma.
