Valterra honors its patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen, one more year. This celebration with great seafaring roots will begin this Monday afternoon with the reading of the proclamation at 9:00 p.m. by the former coach of the Unión Deportiva Lanzarote, Ginés Carmelo Hernández.

The celebrations will last until Sunday, July 19, the day on which the visit of the Virgin to the Insular Hospital and the maritime procession along the coast of the capital of the Island is planned.

The Councilor for Festivities, Zebensui Rodríguez, who will attend the reading of the proclamation, accompanied by the Mayor of Arrecife, José Montelongo, congratulated the residents of Valterra for "keeping alive one of the oldest traditional festivals in the Port of Arrecife." "It is a privilege to be able to participate in a celebration that has the added value that the entire neighborhood is involved in the preparations," he added.
