The firefighters of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium carried out a multiple accident drill with extrication and rescue of injured people this Wednesday. Subsequently, they received the diplomas from the II Extrication Training Conference. The vice president of the Cabildo, Joaquín Caraballo, witnessed the drill and presided over the award ceremony of these recognitions.
The drill, which took place at 11:30 a.m. on the esplanade of the Arrecife Fairgrounds, in front of the Cabildo, served so that the firefighters of Lanzarote could put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during this course, shared with the colleagues of the Provincial Consortium of Badajoz. The people from Extremadura are considered the third best in Spain in rescue maneuvers with extrication.
The drill presented two parallel scenarios of multiple vehicle accidents. The action consisted of removing the injured from the vehicles using extrication tools to cut parts of the structure and be able to extract them from inside, avoiding any damage from the maneuver.
In the afternoon, the plenary hall of the Cabildo hosted the award ceremony of qualification diplomas to the firefighters of the Lanzarote Consortium, which was presided over by Joaquín Caraballo. The vice president also presented a gift of gratitude to the firefighters of the Provincial Consortium of Badajoz.
