This Friday, May 19, the emotional Graduation ceremony of the 2nd year Baccalaureate students of Arenas Internacional School took place. The stage chosen for the twenty-sixth edition was the Islote Room of the Arrecife Gran Hotel (Lanzarote) where, surrounded by the warmth of families, friends and teachers, the students accessed under the Canticorum Jubillo, performed by the San Ginés Polyphonic Choir.
After the ceremonial entrance of the graduates, the Deputy Director of the Center, José Paz, acted as Master of Ceremonies giving way to the Managing Director Jaime Rodríguez who offered his speech in English. Then the General Director of Arenas School, Arenas Atlántico and Arenas Internacional, Alberto Rodríguez, took the floor, who presided over the event together with the Education Inspector of the Government of the Canary Islands, Juan Rafael Bailón Casanova. The Director of Arenas Internacional School, Delfina Rodríguez, and the students Hanna Reyes Rodríguez and Aryan Jain Ascanio, representatives of the XXVI promotion of National Baccalaureate and the XII promotion of the Diploma Program of International Baccalaureate, respectively, also spoke with emotional speeches.
One of the most sentimental moments occurred during the screening of the audiovisual with images of the students' passage through the School, from their beginnings in Infantil to Baccalaureate: memories of their trips, solidarity actions, exchanges, participation in Olympics, achievements and awards obtained in external institutions, immersion in the English language and culture in the Residential Center of Arenas School in England Sulis Manor..., and hundreds of memories that will be fixed in the retina of those present and that the graduates will carry in their backpacks, accompanying them on the next journey of their lives.
Along with the words of thanks and congratulations and some advice contained in the various speeches, the bachelors collected their Orlas surrounded by the warm applause of the attendees.
Juan Rafael Bailón Casanova closed the event, who after thanking the invitation, highlighted "the immense educational work that the School carries out in Lanzarote, being recognized throughout the island its great educational offer and its commitment to a high quality international education." He also recognized all the people who have made possible the formation of the graduates and congratulated managers, teachers, owners, students and families, for the work done. The Gaudeamus put a point and followed to an evening that continued with a Spanish wine.
The interventions and speeches were interspersed with musical performances by the San Ginés Polyphonic Choir.
