The pictorial exhibition opens on Thursday, April 1st at 10:00 p.m. in the bar in the center of Arrecife and will give life to the walls of the place during the next month
A woman with short, straight, dark hair whose torso is naked watches with her sensual gaze those who play billiards in the bar La Roca. Next to her, an exhibition companion, no less sexy, hypnotizes the attendees with the play of her hands on her navel under illuminated bare breasts. Two nudes sharing a stone wall and the scene that could result from crossing paths with these two young women placed between them: blue lace panties tangled in red stiletto heels.
The story narrated on this wall of the bar La Roca, located in the center of Arrecife, is the work of Diego Rueda. These three pieces are some of the first pictorial manifestations of the 35-year-old artist from Malaga. Women, the sea, and the injustices implicit in the economic system that led to the devastating crisis of last year are the themes that awaken the creativity of this windsurfer from the South who fell in love with the waves and the Lanzarote wind when he met them.
Seven years have passed since Diego Rueda created his first work "The Invasion of the Gray Men", a geometric composition formed by hundreds of small wooden squares, and, since then, his concerns have led him to a collection of about twenty works. Sculpture, collage, and acrylic paint on wood are the techniques used by the artist, and the blue giant, women, and the problems of the 21st century are his sources of inspiration.
Thus, the interaction between the different creative agents means that sharks, clown fish, geometric shapes, and nudes help this artist to express his thoughts. And from Thursday at 10:00 p.m., and for a month, those interested will be able to discover this work that no one has yet seen and with which the artist from Malaga gives the floor to the public for the first time.
