The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has committed to "organize a mediation" between the workers of Lanzarote Bus and the company, through "someone impartial who brings the parties together and rules".
She did so after a meeting held this Thursday, which also included the Minister of Transport, Marcos Bergaz, with a delegation from the Federation of Transport of Intersindical Canaria, composed of J. Manuel Moreno and Pedro Mora, together with the delegates of Lanzarote Bus, J. Luis Martín, and Juan Jesús Rodríguez de Jocaba.
The union argues that both the president and the minister "have listened to the demands and claims of the workers of the four companies" that are already in their twenty-third day of strike. However, Intersindical Canaria criticizes that the business part "did not attend the meeting", thus showing "their intransigent position to resolve this conflict."
"Our response is that we are willing to exhaust all possible avenues of understanding and we need to hear the position of the management of the companies," they stated from Intersindical Canaria.
