The Lanzarote Airport has suffered cancellations, diversions and delays in several flights due to the adverse weather situation. Aena, the public company in charge of managing the aerodrome, warned on Thursday morning that the passage of the Olivier storm could interfere with planned routes. Likewise, low visibility has forced 14 flights to be diverted, two to be canceled, and has caused dozens of delays.

Specifically, two inter-island flights, one to Tenerife North and another to Gran Canaria, have had to be canceled due to bad weather.

In addition, eleven diversions of international flights to Fuerteventura Airport have been added. Among the flights diverted to the neighboring island are those that departed from Cardiff, two from Bristol, one from London Stansted, two from London Gatwick, one from Birmingham, two from Manchester, one from Dublin and another from Bournemouth. In addition to a diversion to Tenerife South of another flight that departed from Dublin. In addition, the return of two flights to Tenerife North and Gran Canaria.

Likewise, four flights operated by Binter between Tenerife North and Lanzarote Airport have arrived late. For example, the trip that was leaving at 2:00 p.m. from the western island is not scheduled to depart until 4:06 p.m. this Thursday. In the opposite direction, between Lanzarote and Tenerife North, three flights have experienced problems, for the moment. For example, the NT 427 that was scheduled to leave the island of volcanoes at 12:50 p.m., has finally rescheduled its departure for 5:37 p.m.

The most affected route has been the one that connects the island of volcanoes with Gran Canaria. Specifically, nine flights so far have been delayed from the neighboring island, while another nine flights have suffered delays in the opposite direction.

Likewise, international flight departures are also experiencing problems. For example, several flights from the companies Ryanair and Tui, which were scheduled to depart at 11:00 in the morning, have not been able to take off until around 3:00 in the afternoon, some of them have not even done so yet.
