The sports entity Gru Lanzarote, CEIP Playa Honda, CER Lanzarote and AS Creciendo Yaiza will develop sports, educational, youth and inclusive activities with more than 900 students between April 3 and 5. Specifically, this celebration is due to the fact that the United Nations has declared April 6 as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, in order to raise awareness that sports can generate healthy, fair, supportive and tolerant coexistence.
Sports gymkhanas, traditional games and the screening of a documentary will be the activities that more than 1000 students and teachers from CEIP Playa Honda and the Unitary Schools of Lanzarote will be able to enjoy.
The objectives of these days are focused on motivating students towards sports activities, developing co-educational, participatory and egalitarian work through sport, promoting companionship, solidarity, tolerance and leadership within sports and valuing effort above results and learning to value one's own and others' merits.
CEIP Playa Honda will become the nerve center of the activity where participants will find Sports Gymkhanas, Traditional Games and the screening of a documentary.
In the Gymkhanas we will carry out a set of skill and ingenuity tests that will always be carried out in groups by teams along a route, with a playful and entertainment objective. Traditional Games will contribute to the physical, emotional and sociocultural development of the participants, strengthening their cultural identity and bringing them closer to our traditions in a dynamic way.
We will show students a documentary focused on showing that through sport we can develop a positive, fighting and inspiring attitude. All this will be possible thanks to the sponsorship and collaboration of the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families of the Government of the Canary Islands, Juventudcanaria.com, Cabildo de Lanzarote, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Education, Department of Youth, City Council of San Bartolomé, Department of Youth, Department of Sports, City Council of Teguise, Department of Youth and Imaginemos Eventos y Servicios.
