The students of CEIP Ajei have traveled to La Graciosa to carry out a planting of native flora, as a prize for having won the contest 'A forest of Ecopilas 2022'. The campaign was carried out with the collaboration of Lanzarote Recicla, which depends on the Island Institution, the Ecopilas Foundation and the Nature Classroom.
The Minister of Waste, Hugo Delgado, highlighted that "the campaign closed with the participation of 39 educational centers, which contributed a total of 526 kilos of batteries in a period of only four months." He also pointed out that "this type of campaign is very important for Lanzarote, which as a Biosphere Reserve, always strives to be a sustainable island and for the awareness of the little ones."
In addition, the Minister indicated that "from the Cabildo of Lanzarote we want to bring to schools different projects focused on recycling and environmental awareness, so that children are responsible for spreading the culture of recycling."
The students of CEIP Ajei have carried out the activities with the help of the students of Ceo Ignacio Aldecoa de la Graciosa. "It is important that students contribute their grain of sand in the reforestation of the island," concluded the Minister of Waste, Hugo Delgado.
