Puerto del Carmen is already breathing Carnival. The tourist town hosted on Thursday night its first day of festivities with the children's carnival and the performances of the murga groups, which managed to fill the Plaza de El Varadero, in La Tiñosa.
From the Tías Town Hall, an "intense" program of activities has been scheduled, among which the great carnival parade stands out this Saturday, and the Day Carnival, in the Plaza de La Tiñosa on Sunday at noon, with numerous surprises.
The Department of Festivities of Tías, under the coordination of the councilor Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, foresees the attendance of about 50,000 people this weekend, including tourists and residents.
On Thursday, the Plaza de El Varadero hosted a special show for children and families. Shortly after 8:30 p.m., the performance of the murga groups Los Tabletúos, Los Simplones and Los Desahuciados arrived, filling the Plaza de La Tiñosa with public.
For this Friday, the Carnival Gala is scheduled with exhibitions by Guaracheros Show, and the groups from Tías, the Comparsa Sur Caliente and the batucada Chimbay. The carnival party will continue at night in the square, enlivened by the Orquesta Travesía and DJ Carlos Chavaud.
Saturday will be the great carnival parade along the Avenida Marítima of Puerto del Carmen, starting at 5:00 p.m., with the presence of the murga groups, comparsas, batucadas, groups and floats. The night will conclude with prolonged verbenas in the Plaza del Varadero.
