The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands counts two new cases and one under study of monkeypox since Friday.
Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, there have been 98 confirmed cases, of which 66 were detected in Gran Canaria, 30 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura, Sanidad specifies in a statement.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
There is also a probable case, pending confirmation, notified in Gran Canaria.
The Ministry of Health's protocol classifies cases as probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if they only present clinical criteria, in which case it is considered a suspected case.
