Canary Islands adds three new positives of monkeypox

The archipelago confirms 166 positives and five cases under study, of which one is probable and four are suspected

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified three new cases and five under study of monkeypox since Friday.

Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 166 confirmed cases, of which 96 were detected in Gran Canaria, 63 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.

One of the patients is hospitalized for "mild complications that require hospital treatment", according to Sanidad, while the rest of the active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation.

Regarding the cases under study, Sanidad maintains four: one probable in Gran Canaria and three other suspected, two in Tenerife and one in Gran Canaria.
