The Arrecife Tourist Train has already started running in the city on the morning of November 30. A project born in the Department of Commerce and Tourism, led by Alberto Morales, which will be tested for 15 days.
Throughout those two weeks, the Tourist Train will be free and will depart from the Charco de San Ginés parking lot, making a stop at the Castillo de San Gabriel, to the Arrecife Fairgrounds, where it turns around to return to the starting point. The trial period will also serve to check how this new tourist attraction coexists with the daily life and daily traffic of the city.
Although the objective, if it is found that the Tourist Train is viable, is to schedule departures every hour, in these 15 days of testing, the departure will be made every time the places are filled.
Especially designed to receive cruise passengers
The new attraction consists of a locomotive machine with three wagons with capacity for 20 people each, which will travel along the city's coastline, "expanding the tourist offer that the Arrecife City Council makes available to the thousands of cruise passengers who disembark in the city", says Alberto Morales.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of Tourism, Alberto Morales, included an inaugural tour of the Avenida Marítima de Arrecife, connecting the Charco de San Ginés with the Theme Park.
