Arrecife paid tribute to 9 retired teachers this Wednesday. The event, which took place at the Civic Center, was full of emotion and kind words towards the work of the teachers. According to the councilor, "these are very important and influential people in the emotional and educational development of our children." In addition, the course of the Official School of Music was closed.

MUSIC SCHOOL

Juan Rafael Bailón, general director of Educational Planning, Innovation and Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands, and Carmen Rosa Márquez, Minister of Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as well as Mario Pérez, island director of Education, and Eduardo Núñez, director of the CEC, in addition to the councilors of the Education and Culture areas of the Arrecife City Council, Ascensión Toledo Hernández and Juan Rafael González, respectively, were present at the tribute.

In the tribute to the retired teachers, which only four of them, Ernestina Pérez, Loli Melián, Encarna Carrasco and Victoria Gómez, were able to attend, the educational work carried out during these years was recognized. Toledo added that "with this simple act that we celebrate today, we only want to thank all those teachers who dedicate their lives to teaching our children."

The teachers whose work was recognized with a handmade gift are María Victoria Gómez Martínez from the CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo, Ernestina Hdez. Peraza and Luz Cruz from the CEIP Mercedes Medina, Mercedes Duarte from the Adolfo Topham Center, Encarnación Carrasco from the Antonio Zerolo center, Juana Hdez. from the CEO Center and Loli Melián, Juliana García and Pino García from the CEIP Nieves Toledo.

MUSIC CLOSURE

That same afternoon, students of different levels and ages showed everything they had learned during the course, under the direction of Juan Arrocha, at the Closing of the course of the Municipal School of Music. A concert that did not go unnoticed by those present.
