Traditional and popular music continues to capture the attention of the public, who faithfully attend each event next to the House of Fear in the Charco de San Ginés, filling the venue to enjoy the invited groups.

On Saturday night, the Canary Islands Traditional Music and Dance Festival was held. In this edition, three consolidated formations took the stage, with great musical and vocal interpretive quality, putting their own stamp and demonstrating in each of their interventions the work that they are polishing with so much responsibility and dedication based on hours in each of the rehearsals in their social headquarters.

The first to take the stage were the 30 members of Acatife from La Villa de Teguise. They were very happy to participate again in the San Ginés festivities. Acatife, which is not characterized by making versions of themes by other authors or groups, but by making traditional themes, of its own composition or unpublished compositions, remains faithful to its format, using the same type of simple formation and the same string instruments with percussion accompaniment. For this concert, they performed recently created themes, also rescuing some of those that are already part of their record recordings.

The second place was reserved for the members of the Tintilllo group from the island of Tenerife, who have a great musical background since almost all of them come from the "Jóvenes Sabandeños". Musical formation that accompanied throughout its trajectory great soloists very consolidated in the Canarian folklore. After several years of inactivity, these members met again in 2011 acting as a base group and decided to try again. From that moment on, very encouraged and committed, Tintillo will be there where the real protagonists are not its members but all those singers and players who publicly or anonymously continue to keep alive the witness of our musical roots throughout the Archipelago. Tintillo for this concert featured soloists Melquiades Cruz, Juanma Padrón and Miriam Cruz.

To close the concert, the third place was reserved for the Achamán group from La Laguna, Tenerife. Forty-three years support the 30 restless members who decided to meet to perform Canarian and Latin American music. Very soon, they received the protection of Los Sabandeños, who provided them with the first esperanceras blankets and their rehearsal space, thus Achamán "Jóvenes Cantadores" was born. Achamán has 16 record works with songs of Canarian and Latin American roots. They also have numerous awards and distinctions such as the Medals of the city of Malaga, of the Foundation of La Laguna and the Gold Medal of San Cristobal de La Laguna awarded in 2012. The group for this concert offered a careful selection of songs with Canarian dyes and from the other side of the Atlantic. Ending his performance with the famous pasodoble Islas Canarias.
