Victoriano Hernández, known as "el rubio" (the blond) in the island's hospitality sector, received this Thursday a recognition from the only Councilor for Hospitality in the Canary Islands, Armando Santana, also responsible for Tourism, Commerce and Consumption in the Arrecife City Council, after a lifetime dedicated to the sector and whose retirement comes after 12 years offering the best of his cuisine at the Víctor Cafeteria, located on Luis Morote street in the capital.

Hernández retired this December 31 after having started his career from a very young age in this sector, starting with only 19 years as a waiter in the Hotel San Antonio. From that moment he knew what his profession would be. Later he leased the Don Paco Restaurant, located in the area of Playa de Matagorda in Puerto del Carmen, and continued his work with another restaurant on Avenida de las Playas, next to Playa Grande. He was followed by the renowned Bora Bora, the bowling alley of San Bartolomé, the Bar El Tabaiba in the Plaza de Tinajo and the bar of the Sociocultural Center of Tahíche.

It was in 2008 when he founded Casa Víctor, which has been his home until this Thursday, the date of his retirement, after 12 years offering the best of himself and his culinary proposals to the clientele of the capital, tourists and visitors. From now on he will dedicate himself to his other great passion, fishing.

"Today I had the honor of giving recognition to a man who has dedicated a good part of his life to hospitality; that is, to making others happy. This detail that we wanted to have with this great professional is a well-deserved recognition for his effort and work during all these years and, above all, for his legacy. I wish him a happy retirement and very good fishing", stressed Armando Santana during the act.
