Ángela Luque won first prize this Saturday at the II Altavista Song Performers Festival "Mi Barrio Canta 2019", the second prize went to Gloría Esther and Deseada Domínguez achieved third place. This festival, the only one held on the island with live music, was held in the social hall of the Padre Claret Neighborhood Association as one of the events of the festivities in honor of San Antonio María Claret.
The festival began with the couple formed by Rubén Martínez and Alice Battezzati, two extraordinary dancers who surprised the audience with their spectacular choreographies, who did not stop applauding each of the pieces they put on stage. Next, the orchestra formed by the musicians Gonzalo Antolín on piano, Yosán Pereda on guitar, Manuel Mauri on keyboards and synthesizers, Alejandro Jiménez on drums and percussion and Acorán Ramos on bass accompanied with their chords the nine performers who, following the established rhythms, gave their best before a very dedicated audience.
The first to participate was Carlos Omar followed by Mª José Madrid, Virginia Tellez, Claudia Villarrueta, Armando Ravelo, Francisco Javier García, Ángela Luque, Gloría Esther Sepúlveda and Deseada Domínguez.
The jury, made up of 5 members and the secretary, had a hard time completing the minutes at the time of deliberation in order to announce the names of the three winners. While the jury was deliberating, the public continued to enjoy the performances of guest artists such as Jennifer Hernández, winner of the first edition of the 2018 festival, Iraides Torres, Yosán Pereda and Gonzalo Antolín. Each of them performed several songs of different genres with voices very well coupled with the musical chords.
Next, Inodelvia Torres, secretary of the jury, presented the minutes, which were as follows. First prize valued at 300 euros and trophy for Ángela Luque Castro with the song "Si yo fuera Ella", the prize was presented by José Alfredo Mendoza, Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council. The second prize, valued at 200 euros and a trophy, went to Gloría Esther Sepúlveda with the song "La mala Costumbre", the prize was presented by Nova Kirkpatrik, Councilor for Activities of the Arrecife City Council. The third prize, valued at 100 euros and a trophy, went to Deseada Domínguez with the song "Un año de Amor", was presented by the President of the Neighborhood Association, Mari Carmen Santacruz.
The festival came to an end with the performance of Ángela Luque Castro who performed the winning song "Si yo fuera Ella.
