For her part, the young native of Gran Canaria, Aridia Ramos Rodríguez, who performed with the theme Cuando yo quería ser grande (When I wanted to be big), won the third prize.
This twelfth edition of the Yaiza-Playa Blanca Song Festival distributed more than 6000 euros in prizes. The famous TVE commentator José Luis Uribarri presided over the jury, among whom were, among others, the director of the Benidorm Song Festival, Roberto Campos, and Betty Misiego, godmother of this XII edition.
The esplanade of the port of Playa Blanca, which houses the fairgrounds, was filled to witness this Yaiza Song Festival, one of the oldest and with projection in the Canary Islands. Sergio Rivero, winner of the last edition of Operación Triunfo, won the first prize in Yaiza in 2004.
