A group of motorcyclists toured the island of Lanzarote last Sunday on the III Honda 70 Route. Hugo García, one of the members of this club, explained that these motorcycles had their golden age between the 80s and 90s, although some fans still keep them.
"In the late 60s, in a market dominated by motorcycles with two-stroke engines, Honda appeared with its proposal for a mini motorcycle powered by a small, very different and reliable four-stroke engine," said García, who assures that handling these motorcycles with a "unique" aesthetic is "easy".
These mini motorcycles gained the sympathy of the public and managed to be a sales success in the Canary Islands. After more than 30 years on the market, these small motorcycles are reluctant to leave the roads.
Proof of this is that on July 1st, the III edition of the Honda 70 San Pedro de Mácher Route was held. This event emerged as the reference concentration of the Honda 70 of Lanzarote. A total of 42 drivers took the start at the Mácher teleclub to tour the island. The bikers made several stops, such as at the First Costa Teguise Motorcycle Fair or the Gran Karting Club of Lanzarote, where they were able to access the circuit and ride.
