Oswaldo Betancort congratulates the private sector for the investment of more than 110 million and for its "exquisite predisposition to go hand in hand in the development of a destination that is being transformed"

The Costa Teguise Civic Center hosted this Tuesday the presentation of the modernization projects of the accommodation and commercial establishments of the tourist-residential town, some of them already completed such as the Hotel Gran Teguise Playa, or the Radisson Blu Lanzarote. The others that are about to start are the Neptuno, Oasis Lanz, the second phase of the Meliá Salinas, which will become a luxury brand Paradisus, and the next project of Kumar Dadlani, an open shopping center on the beachfront of Costa Teguise, on Las Cucharas Avenue.

“Today we have brought together a representation of the hotel sector of the island of Lanzarote that is strongly committed to offering a quality product in accordance with the new times”, said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighting that all the projects have been designed opening their facilities to the sea and the local public, and with a projection of the future that involves enhancing the experiences of tourists but also residents, with the utmost respect for the authenticity of the destination”, he considered.

Betancort congratulated the private sector of Costa Teguise and, in particular, these projects of recent execution and very close materialization for an economic investment that exceeds 110 million euros. “In this meeting in which everyone has explained their commitment to the modernization of Costa Teguise, there has been a lot of enthusiasm and a high level of commitment, in addition to an exquisite predisposition to go hand in hand in the development of a destination that is being transformed”.

The mayor of Teguise, accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Planning and Technical Office, among other areas, Olivia Duque, has stated that “this great step that investors are taking will be accompanied by public contracts that the City Council is launching to improve cleaning services, gardens, garbage, accessibility or paving and lighting”. “There are many tenders that are being worked on so that the institutional response is up to the number of residents who are increasingly choosing Costa Teguise to settle, as well as the volume of tourists or long-stay visitors who are opting for our destination, for the quality of its accommodation offer, for our climate and landscape, and for the safety and tranquility it offers”, he adds.

Olivia Duque, for her part, has reviewed the legal situation of each of the unfinished constructions in Costa Teguise, in which the City Council has been working “hand in hand with the municipal legal services and with the utmost respect for the law, with total conviction that we can soon close this chapter in the history of Costa Teguise, thanks to the efforts of everyone, both technicians and the properties that have shown their willingness to settle an entrenched problem and change for the better the image of a leading town in tourism and urban planning in the Canary Islands, which this year celebrates 50 years of life”.
