Representatives from the Garden, Tecla Karaoke, La Grulla, and DiscoKopas La Marina venues have issued a statement to report that the Kokum Club nightclub, also located in the Marina Lanzarote port, is "violating" the coronavirus safety regulations.

According to them, on July 10th and 11th, it was open to the public, "with customers dancing on the dance floor, not respecting capacity, or safety distances, or the hygienic-sanitary measures established by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to reduce contagion by Covid-19."

Those responsible for the Garden, Tecla Karaoke, La Grulla, and DiscoKopas La Marina venues point out that it was a "repetitive behavior, since the events happened on the two days mentioned above, without any type of measure being taken by those responsible for the aforementioned venue."

In addition, they consider that this gives "a disastrous example to the people of Lanzarote, since many of the attendees shared this behavior on social networks."

Thus, the representatives of the nearby venues express their "outrage" at this situation, as they state that in their establishments "the protocol has been respected at all times: the security measures, the capacity, the safety distance, etc., with dancing on the dance floor also prohibited."

"It seems unfair, a lack of respect for the rest and unfair competition," one of the complainants also stated in statements to La Voz, who affirmed that the events had already been brought to the attention of the Local Police. "Let's see if the City Council takes action," he concluded.
